Synopsis
The USS Infinity travels through a temporal wormhole. Zero wonders if the shaking is normal. Dal R’El says nothing about time travel is normal. Maj’el prepares the Infinity for a crash landing. The ship crashes. Maj’el asks if everyone is okay. Jankom Pog is only slightly on fire. Dal attempts to contact the USS Voyager-A. But Maj’el doubts they are still in the same decade. Jankom cites the goal Admiral Kathryn Janeway had: not traveling through the wormhole until Chakotay had sent back the USS Protostar. But Jankom spots the Protostar, indicating they’ve arrived too early.
Back aboard the Voyager, Counselor Noum confirms that the Infinity has traveled through the wormhole too early. Tysess says they can’t get a signal from the shuttle. Janeway asks who was aboard the ship. Rok-Tahk and Murf arrive on the bridge. They inform Janeway that Dal and the others were aboard Infinity.
In the future, Zero and Jankom work on the ship. Maj’el argues they should stay put. Dal wants to help Chakotay. The others warn him they must preserve the timeline. Zero says the Protostar will launch in four hours. Maj’el cites Starfleet’s temporal policy and says they must conceal their identity. Multiple Vau N’Akat guards arrive and apprehend them.
Half a century earlier, Solum hosts a thriving civilization. Ascencia warns those in the Elders’ chambers to locate Gwyndala. The Elders say they have rejected Gwyn. What threat could she pose? Ascencia says she’s spreading “poisonous rhetoric.” One of the Elders agrees, citing the absence of Ilthuran. But that’s when Ilthuran and Gwyn arrive in the chambers. Ilthuran, currently known as Stargazer, insists his voice be heard. Gwyn says Solum is her home. One Elder pushes back. Ilthuran says he stands with Gwyn because she is his daughter. He demonstrates this with their heirloom. Ilthuran says Gwyn has called for the Vau N’Akat ritual. Asencia is mad, but the Elders will allow it.
In Solum’s future, our heroes have been apprehended. Furthermore, they’re placed into the same prison cell as Chakotay and his first officer, Adreek-hu. Our young heroes must conceal their identities from Chakotay and Adreek. They claim to be galactic traders captured by the Vau N’Akat. Chakotay and Adreek say there’s no way out of the cell. They still decide the youngsters are trustworthy. It’s only one hour until the Protostar is meant to be sent back. But Chakotay and Adreek don’t seem ready for that. Dal wonders if they’d always been there to help. Maj’el observes this isn’t unprecedented, citing other examples. Dal says that if they’re supposed to start the jailbreak, they must figure it out fast.
In Solum’s past, Gwyn and Asencia confront each other before the ritual. They will leave their heirlooms behind. Whoever emerges the victor will be embraced as “one of their own.” In short order, the stone platform they’re standing on begins to descend. Gwyn identifies the location as the source of their heirlooms. Asencia uses the local particles to form a pair of weapons out of midair. She attacks Gwyn. Gwyn defends herself, eventually forming a weapon for herself. Asencia accuses her of delaying the inevitable. In Solum’s future, the young new arrivals work with Chakotay and Adreek on escape. Jankom uses the PADD to activate his prosthetic hand, which had been removed. He remotely navigates it towards the controls for the jail. But en route, the hand is confronted by a Watcher robot.![]()

However, it successfully deactivates the forcefield. The prisoners escape. Jankom attacks the Watcher and destroys it. Maj’el incapacitates a guard using the Vulcan nerve pinch. Zero is excited to help Chakotay in sending the Protostar off.
In Solum’s past, Gwyn and Asencia continue to battle. They exchange words of disagreement. Asencia gains the upper hand. However, Gwyn stops her attack and uses the weapons to create a ladder. Gwyn announces she’s leaving Asencia behind. She begins to climb. Asencia pursues.
Meanwhile, in Solum’s future, the escaped prisoners approach the Protostar. Dal and the others offer to create a distraction to preserve Chakotay’s past actions. Dal says that in another time, they could have been friends. Chakotay and Adreek are sent off towards the Protostar. Meanwhile, Dal and the others use hover bikes to distract the Drednok robots. Our young heroes reach an observation point and celebrate their victory. As they watch, Adreek is injured, as had happened in the past. But unlike the past iteration, there’s a disrupter within Chakotay’s reach. He picks it up and, carrying Adreek, fights his way aboard the ship. Previously, the Protostar was unmanned when it was sent back through the wormhole.
This time, Chakotay and Adreek are aboard as it travels through the portal. Our young heroes are mortified. Temporal readers go bonkers. The Protostar did NOT go to Tars Lamora. Meanwhile, in Solum’s future, Gwyn begins to phase in and out of existence. As a result, she’s unable to continue using her ladder. It also means a volley from Asencia doesn’t kill her. Gwyn falls but is caught by an heirloom structure. Asencia emerges from the arena as the victor. The platform closes Gwyn below. Asencia emerges and is declared the victor, to the horror of her younger self and Ilthuran.-geekgirlauthority.com
