Synopsis
The exhausted Alpha shift crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise is pushed to their absolute limits as they travel to the Rodaxian System to host high-stakes peace talks. Recognizing their burnout, Captain Pike agrees to a detour at Cesnar Grand, a tech-free pleasure planet famous for its fast-acting, "intoxicating atmosphere." Despite initial protests from workaholics like Lieutenant Scotty and Ensign Uhura, the crew lands on the planet for a much-needed break. Almost instantly upon opening the shuttle doors, the atmospheric effects take hold, sending the crew into a state of rapid, euphoric intoxication.
The following morning, Lieutenant Erica Ortegas wakes up nursing a brutal hangover, sporting a mysterious cast on her arm, and sharing a trashed hotel room with Scotty, who is inexplicably dressed in a mugato suit. Their confusion is interrupted by the resort's host, Dendru, who delivers a handwritten message for Captain Pike. Because of the planet's strict tech-free rules, Ortegas and Scotty, who are already grappling with lingering professional tension over their respective ship duties, are forced to put aside their bickering, team up, and physically track down their captain.
Their bizarre quest forces the duo to navigate the chaotic aftermath of their crewmates' wild night. They encounter a frantic Spock, who is convinced he is hallucinating an emotional support version of James T. Kirk, as well as a fiercely liberated Uhura hosting a massive party. Along the way, they spot Dr. M’Benga failing miserably at flashy bartending and catch First Officer Una Chin-Riley belting out Klingon power ballads. They finally locate Captain Pike in a tattoo parlor, only to discover the note contains terrible news: the Rodaxians have arrived early, leaving them just two hours to prepare for the peace talks.![]()

Ordered to immediately prep their transport, Ortegas and Scotty realize they have lost their shuttle keys and must embark on a convoluted mission to retrieve their ship. After accidentally destroying a borrowed tricorder, they enlist Spock, who hilariously mind-melds with a desk plant to locate the shuttle on the resort's roof. To bypass a biker gang guarding the craft, they recruit a highly aggressive La'an Noonien-Singh to fight their way through. After surviving a brief kidnapping by the resort's overzealous staff and rescuing Nurse Chapel from an intense bingo game, the heavily intoxicated crew finally makes it back to the Enterprise.
Back on the ship, an inebriated Captain Pike awkwardly attempts to greet the Rodaxian delegates using speech notes he drunkenly tattooed on his hands. Meanwhile, down in the shuttlebay, Ortegas and Scotty make a horrifying discovery: unknown saboteurs planted a reactive quadrium bomb on their shuttle in an attempt to scuttle the peace talks. A video recorded during their blackout reveals that their drunken selves found the explosive and hid the shuttle to protect the ship. But a now-sober Scotty accidentally grabs it, triggering the device's dead-man's switch. With the bomb threatening to destroy the Enterprise, Ortegas leaps into action, piloting the rigged shuttle away from the ship while Scotty is forced to hold the live explosive. At the absolute last second, Spock, aided by the very real, non-hallucination James T. Kirk, manages to beam the pilot and engineer to safety.
The shuttle explodes in a spectacular display of light just outside the Enterprise, which miraculously saves the day when the deeply offended Rodaxian delegates mistake the blast for a highly respectful "Formal Rite of Peace." With the diplomatic mission secured, Spock realizes that Kirk's comforting presence was genuine all along, finally giving the Vulcan the true friend he desperately needed. The harrowing ordeal also bridges the gap between Ortegas and Scotty; Ortegas visits Engineering to understand the strain her flying puts on the ship, forging a newfound mutual respect and a solid friendship between the two officers.
